The Eastern Cape Department of Transport says four people were killed and five others were injured in a single vehicle accident near Kwa Bhacha (Mount Frere) this weekend.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the driver of the vehicle lost control and it overturned at Dangwana Village on Sunday morning.
He said a Light Delivery Vehicle with eight occupants, all church congregants, was travelling from Kwa Bacha to Matatiele when the crash occurred.
Binqose said the deceased included two men and two women. The driver was one of those in serious condition in hospital.
“The circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident are still unknown. A case of culpable homicide will be investigated by the local SAPS.
