The four men convicted of the murder of the 63-year-old Heila Kilian on a farm outside Still Bay in 2018, have been handed life sentences in the George Circuit High Court.
Judge Lister Nuku sentenced the accused, Sakhumzi Benya, Nkoshihethu Nocuza, Msomi Nikani, and Monwabisi Maki, on Friday.
In addition, he also jailed them for a further 54 years on various other charges including robbery with aggravated circumstances and the illegal possession of a firearm. These sentences will serve concurrently.
They will be eligible for parole in 25 years.
Kilian was fatally wounded while enjoying a braai with her sister Brenda and her brother-in-law David Thomas, who were also beaten up during an ordeal that reportedly lasted for up to two hours.
The accused had denied having anything to do with Kilian's murder.
