Four men, aged between 19 and 32, are due to appear in the Port Alfred Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old Nemato resident.
Its alleged that the deceased and a friend were walking home from a tavern early on Sunday morning, when they were approached by the knife-wielding men who started stabbing the victim.
His friend managed to escape, but the 23-year-old was stabbed and died at the scene.
When police found his body, it had several wounds on the chest and arm and his throat had been slit.
Police arrested the suspects at a house in Endlovini Township where they also seized four pangas, one covered in blood, and a firearm.
