Two security guards were killed and two wounded following a shooting incident in Kwadwesi on Tuesday morning.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a security vehicle with four occupants was escorting a bread delivery truck when they got blocked off in Mzwandile Street in Joe Slovo at about 11 am.
She says the guards were driving an unmarked Mazda 323 and were blocked off by a white Toyota Avanza.
Colonel Naidu says it is not clear who fired shots first but eventually the Mazda collided with a wall before coming to a standstill.
Two guards were dead and two aged 28 and 37 were wounded.
The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Mveleli Khethelo and 44-year-old Malusi Mbasana.
Approximately five suspects managed to steal three .38 revolvers before fleeing in the Avanza.
Two cases of murder and two of attempted murder are under investigation as well as the robbery of firearms.
