Four Mthatha men who planned to rob former Billabong owner Cheron Kraak, have been given lengthy jail terms in the PE Regional Court.
The four were arrested in August 2009 after Kraak, who received a tip-off about the robbery plan, alerted police and also hired her own security.
Ndwalaza says the men were charged with conspiracy to commit a robbery with aggravating circumstances, the illegal posession of firearms and ammunition.
"The magistrate sentenced them to 42 years each but will serve an effective 18 years each," said Ndwalaza.
He says the NPA is happy at the sentence saying that it would send a strong message to would be criminals.
