Four die EC accident

Four people were killed and three others critically injured in an accident between Alexandria and Port Alfred.

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport said a light delivery vehicle with seven passengers overturned early Sunday evening.

The three seriously injured passengers were rushed to Port Alfred hospital.

“Speed and driving under the influence of alcohol is suspected to be the cause of the accident. The accident occurred this evening at about 17:30,” said Department spokesperson Khuselwa Rantjie.
