The 64-year-old former Wittedrift High School teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted his granddaughter briefly appeared in the Knysna Regional Court on Tuesday.
However, the matter was postponed to November 12th, as the investigation is still ongoing.
The accused, who is out on bail, is facing charges of sexual assault and exposure or display of pornography to a person under the age of 18.
He is also no longer a teacher at Wittedrift High School.
