A Port Elizabeth man who was at one stage a suspect in the murder of Linkside High matriculant Stacey Cornelius, has died in a car accident.
Robert Sauls died on the R62 in the Langkloof yesterday.
Sauls was accused of murdering his niece Stacey Cornelius and dumping her charred remains in a field in November 2010.
The charges against Sauls were provisionally withdrawn late last year due to insufficient evidence.
Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, says Sauls was killed when the bakkie he and a colleague were travelling rolled between Kareedouw and Joubertina.
His colleague escaped with minor injuries.
