Former police official pleads guilty to theft

A former St Francis Bay police Sergeant has been sentenced to a fine or jail time for stealing just over R2500 from the police exhibit store.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei, says 42-year-old Marissa Botha was arrested on Wednesday.

He says she appeared in court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty.

Seekoei says Botha resigned from the SA Police Service last November.
