PE born actress Masasa Mbangeni has been nominated in the category for the Best outstanding leading actress in a soapie, in both the Royalty Soapie Awards and the SA Film and Television Awards, later this month.
The former Alexander Road High School head girl and former junior PE mayor currently plays the role of the villainous Thembeka in E-TV's Scandal.
She's been nominated for the second year in a row in the same category and is competing against South Africa's top women actors for the SAFTA award.
Mbangeni says she believed in herself, never gave up and has been disciplined in honouring her time.
