The Democratic Alliance in the Eastern Cape says it has learnt with sadness of the passing of former Nelson Mandela Bay DA councillor and mayoral committee member, Dean Biddulph, on Saturday.
The party's Provincial Chairperson, Andrew Whitfield says he died at the age of 57, following Covid-19 complications.
He says Biddulph served as Ward 2 councillor in the metro from 2008, looking after the communities of Summerstrand, Humewood, and Central.
Whitfield says he later took up the position as mayoral committee member of corporate services under the Trollip administration in 2016.
He stepped down as a public representative in 2018, to take up a position in the private sector as Chief Operating Officer at CHBC Office Group.
