A former attorney appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Tuesday for allegedly stealing just over R9 million from a trust fund.
Police spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu says the 67-year-old Thomas George Bosch was charged with fraud and theft.
She says it is alleged that when Bosch was still practicing as an attorney between May 2013 and June 2015 he swindled and withdrew over
R9.3 million from the attorney’s trust fund.
Captain Mulamu says upon further investigation it was revealed that the money was paid into the trust account following a sale and purchase agreement between two companies based in Johannesburg.
Bosch handed himself in at the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation office in Johannesburg on Tuesday accompanied by his legal representative.
He was granted bail of R10 000-00 and will be back in court on the 4th of October.
