Foreign National arrested in Mossel Bay for selling smokes

An Ethiopian national was busted by police in Mossel Bay on Wednesday, for illegally selling cigarettes.

Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says police followed up on a tip-off and arrested the 32-year-old suspect at his shop in KwaNonqaba for contravention of the Disaster Management Act as well as the sale of cigarettes.

Pojie says they confiscated more than one thousand cartons worth about R110 000.

The suspect paid a fine of a thousand Rand before being released.
