The Hawks have arrested a 28-year-old foreign national in Mpumalanga for the murder of retired East London cop, Brigadier Joseph Jongile.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, said the suspect was arrested on Thursday by their Serious Organised Crime Investigation Team from East London.
Jongile was gunned down in his home on 14 May when three armed men forced their way into his Baysville home.
The gunmen took bank cards, the deceased's firearm, bicycles, as well as other valuables.
Mgolodela said the suspect will appear in court soon on charges of murder and robbery.
“More arrests are imminent as the investigation continues,” she said.
