The NSRI at Plettenberg Bay will continue the search this morning for 5 people missing after their river boat failed to return from a fishing outing on the Keurbooms River on Thursday.
Spokesperson Craig Lambinon says the NSRI was alerted at 8-30 in the evening that the craft was missing.
A search and rescue operation was launched for six people and their boat - 4 adult males believed to be aged between 40 and 50, a 43 year old woman and her 8 year old son.
They are all from Plettenberg Bay.
The NSRI says the body of the woman was located and recovered in the surf in the river mouth.
It is unknown at this stage if the boat and the remaining missing people were swept out to sea.
