Five seriously injured in accident on R72

At least 5 people sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on the R72 between East London and Port Alfred on Saturday morning.

Provincial traffic spokesperson, Tsepo Machaya says there were no fatalities, and the injured were taken to Frere Hospital in East London.

He says although traffic normalised on major roads in the Eastern Cape on Saturday, accidents are still happening due to bad weather conditions and road works on major routes.
