Eastern Cape police have arrested five murder suspects, aged between 19 and 20, following the hijacking of a taxi in Tsolo.
Spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni says police noticed a suspicious Toyota Quantum without number plates near a turn-off to eNgcobo, and the driver was ordered to stop.
He says there were five occupants, including one female in the vehicle, and police noticed blood stains on a tracksuit top, which they claimed belonged to the driver.
Tonjeni says there were also blood stains inside the taxi, and the police members' suspicion increased and arrested all of them.
He says the owner of the vehicle was traced, and he told the police that the driver of his vehicle was last seen on Friday when he was reporting for duty.
Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver was killed and his body dumped on a farm near Maclear.
Tonjeni says the suspects pointed out the deceased's body.
The suspects are in custody and will appear in court soon.
