Five killed in Eastern Cape road accident

At least five people have been killed and two others critically injured in an accident between two vehicles in the Karoo.

Provincial traffic spokesperson, Tsepo Machaea says Friday evening's accident happened at around 10pm on the N9 between Aberdeen and Graaff Reinet.

He says three men, a woman and a child were killed instantly.

Machaea says two people were rushed to a Graaf Reinet hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the accident is not known.
