Five killed in accident near Aliwal North

Five people have been killed in a minibus taxi accident near Aliwal North.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Vuyani Mapolisa says the accident happened at about 6pm on Monday night on the R58.

The vehicle reportedly lost control and overturned.

He says the driver of the taxi survived.

No other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the accident is not known.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
