At least five people were killed and 10 others injured in a horror accident between Steynsburg and Middelburg in the Eastern Cape.
Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said a taxi overturned on the R56 between the two towns on Friday morning.
He said the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Bodies and debris were scattered across the road following the single-vehicle accident.
Binqose said it was sad that the accident occurred when the Department was busy with its October Transport Month programme.
