Police in Gqeberha have opened up an inquest docket after a fisherman spotted a body floating in the ocean in the North End area.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a community member who went fishing on Sunday saw a woman's body floating in the water at about 3.30 pm.
She says he immediately notified the police and all roleplayers responded to the scene.
The woman has since been identified as 46-year-old Marochelle Wildeman from Korsten.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says at this stage the circumstances surrounding her alleged drowning will form part of the Inquest investigation.
