An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that destroyed a community hall in Kirkwood.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli said community members reported the fire at Aqua Park Community Hall at around 7 pm on Monday night.
He said the Fire Department in the area is investigating the cause of the blaze.
Nkohli says if the Fire Department's preliminary investigation indicates foul play, police will then launch an investigation into the incident.
In a post on Algoa FM's Facebook page, a local resident said that the hall had been used for social events, including weddings and matric farewells.
