Final exam papers go missing at Eastcape Midlands

Several students at the East Cape Midlands TVET College, Uitenhage are up in arms after some of their final-year exam scripts went missing at the college recently.

The Institution confirmed on Wednesday that 22 of 72 Life Orientation scripts for Level 4 students were nowhere to be found.

The TVET College's Acting Deputy Principal for Registration, Solomon Gana says the papers went missing between the school and the marking centre.

Gana says the College has sent a request to the Higher Education Department to release the results of the unaffected students while the investigation is underway.

"The College has also put a plan of action to assist affected students who are accepted in other Higher Education Institutions and those seeking employment," said Gana.

Meanwhile, the students have gone on a total shutdown at the institution.

SRC General-Secretory, Sinazo Mkraqisa no learning and teaching will take place until an alternative solution is reached.

"We are mobilising students from all six campuses of the College. We will march outside the Head Office to demand solutions from management."
