The final sale of the 2015 winter mohair season took place in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday, with a smaller offering of 89-thousand 974 kilogrammes on offer.
The quality of the offering can not be compared with the previous sale, with the market experiencing a small correction to close 3% lower on R217.89 per kg and a 100% sales clearance.
Overall, the winter season delivered excellent results, with the closing winter sale up 18% from the opening sale of the winter season and 16% higher than the corresponding sale of the 2014 season.
A highest price of R345.00 per kg was paid for a bale of 27 micron super style kid mohair.
The first summer sale of 2016 will take place on 16 February
