The Hawks in the Eastern Cape are appealing to the public for help in tracing the killers of a Mount Frere police officer who was gunned down on Monday.
Spokesperson, Lwazi Zenzile, said 36-year-old Sergeant Nozibele Faye was shot and killed as she pulled out of her driveway to go to work.
He said two suspects fired on her vehicle, hitting her in the right side of her chest.
She died on the scene.
Zenzile said the gunmen took her official service firearm before fleeing on foot.
Anyone who can assist the police investigation is urged to contact the Mount Frere police.
