Police in Nelson Mandela Bay are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 47-year-old woman died in a motorcycle accident on the N2 on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is alleged that a woman, driving a Ford Raptor bakkie was travelling in the fast lane towards Gqeberha on the N2 when three motorbikes overtook her just past the Van Stadens Bridge on her left side.
She says a fourth bike, travelling in the same direction, hit the back of the bakkie.
Colonel Naidu says the 50-year-old driver was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition while his female passenger died at the scene.
The victim was identified as Adele Blignaut.
