Woman dies in freak accident at train station in Despatch

A 34-year-old woman has died after being hit by a train at the Despatch station.

The freak accident happened on Monday while the woman was trying to cross the railway line.

Captain Andrè Beetge, says she died on the scene.

He says it is believed that she was on her way to work at a nearby crèche.

Her identity will be released after her next of kin has been informed.
