Fears of a fish farm in Algoa Bay finally put to rest

Fears that a fish farm may be established off Hobie Beach in Algoa Bay can be put to rest once and for all.

Democratic Alliance MPL Ross Purdon says that in reply to a speech he made last week, Economic Affairs, Environment and Tourism MEC Sakhumzi Somyo confirmed that there would be no fish farm in Algoa Bay.

Purdon told AlgoaFM News that MEC Somyo's confirmation was significant, because up until now the decision by Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa to set aside the Fish Farm in Algoa Bay was still with the relevant legal authorities for reconsideration.
