The National Prosecuting Authority has confirmed the arrest of suspected PE gang leader, Shaun Ah Shene.
He was arrested at his home in Parsons Hill on Thursday morning.
NPA spokesperson, Tsepo Ndwalaza, says Ah Shene was taken into custody in the presence of his lawyer.
He says he will appear in court on Thursday on charges that include tax fraud involving an amount of more than R2m.
Ah Shene was later granted bail of R8000 and his case postponed to 30 November.
In February Ah Shene and his wife Virginia were arrested by the Hawks following a nine-year long investigation.
They were charged with money laundering and being in possession of suspected stolen property.
The couple had been released on bail.
