A 49-year-old Roodepoort man and his 20-year-old son appeared in the Port Elizabeth's magistrate's court on Thursday in connection with Monday's hostage drama at a Seaview pharmacy.
The case against Ernst Lottering and his son, also named Ernst, was postoned to Friday.
They face two charges of kidnapping, one count of pointing a fire-arm, as well as charges related to the posession of ammunition, a dangerous weapon and an explosive device.
Their court appearance is a sequel to Monday's drama at the Aloe Pharmacy in Seaview when they briefly held a pharmacist and two assistants hostage after demanding that she give them lethal injections.
The seven hour siege ended when police, using a stun grenade, stormed the pharmacy and arrested the men.
They seized a toy gun and an incendiary device during the arrests.
