Suspended Buffalo City Municipal Manager, Andile Fani, is contesting his suspension in the Labour Court in Port Elizabeth.
Fani was suspended earlier in September by executive mayor, Alfred Mtsi.
This, reportedly to allow for an independent investigator to conduct a forensic investigation into a multimillion-rand housing contract and another for the provision of engineering services in Reeston.
Speaking to Algoa FM Friday Fani said that the Municipality only submitted its replying affidavits on Thursday afternoon.
He said the Labour Court case was postponed to 6 October, which he said also happens to be his birthday.
Buffalo City Municipality mayoral spokesperson, Sibusiso Cindi, said they've been instructed not to comment further on the Fani matter until futher notice.
