Family murder rocks Aliwal North

 A woman in her 30's from Aliwal North has been murdered in her Pienaar Street home - allegedly by her husband.

Police captain Ursula Roelofse says neighbours alerted the police when they heard a shot on Tuesday.

"It is alleged that a husband traveled from Johannesburg to visit his wife, they allegedly argued and after that he shot her. He then threatened to commit suicide. Police negotiated with them for up to 4 hours, he then surrounded his fire arm" she said.
