Billionaire pledges R10-million in fight against poverty

Billionaire, Patrice Motsepe pledged R10m for this year through his foundation, to be spent towards the eradication of poverty, unemployment and inequality in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The spending of the money, earmarked for education, women development, co-operatives, sports, arts and culture amongst others, will be overseen by the Nelson Mandela Bay Motsepe Development Forum, that will be established from different community-based sectors.

The Motsepe Foundation Trust is currently busy with a nationwide road show to start the process of distributing R500 million, and it identified the Eastern Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Gauteng and Limpopo as the provinces with the largest populations.
