Eskom would like to warn customers in the Eastern Cape about a text message scam doing the rounds.
Eskom says consumers will receive a text message from an international number, 007025424068 that states: “Pay the disconnection fine issued to you. Do not re-connect yourself as repeat offenders will have their electricity supply terminated and removed from the Eskom electricity network”.
Eskom says customers should delete the message immediately and must not transfer any money or provide personal information.
