Eastern Province Cricket is mourning the loss of former, long-serving, board member Zak Limbada who died on Monday morning.
According to a statement from the directors, management, and staff, Limbada was appointed in 2013 by Cricket South Africa to assist with the turn-around plan for EP cricket.
The former PPC Cement executive subsequently served until October 2021.
At the time of his passing, Limbada (67) was chairperson of finance for Cricket Eastern Cape (Warriors).
CSA vice-president Donovan May said Limbada was an "integral part in my life over the past 10 years of cricket administration".
"He was someone who I could always depend upon.
"He was one of the first independent directors to have served this game at EPC. He has helped take EPC to another level through his expertise and skills," he said.
Former EPC CEO, Dr Mark Williams also had fond memories of Limbada, saying that he will be remembered for the time he devoted to cricket, his gentle mannerisms and his dignified leadership".
"Under his smart educated leadership, EPC went from a financially distressed organisation to a going concern, and we thank him for that," he said.
