The strike by members of the metal workers union Numsa at Continental Tyres in Port Elizabeth will soon be drawing to a close.
Numsa regional secretary, Phumzile Nodongwe says a general meeting was held on Tuesday with the employer who acceded to the workers demands.
The strike action began mid April.
Nodongwe says workers will now report back to work on Monday.
"Workers have accepted the offer by the employer in terms of the same shift. Workers will now be paid 'time and a half 'on Saturdays' and double time on Sundays' as requested." says Nodongwe.
Meanwhile, Continental Tyre Human Resource manager, Attie Higgs says the company is positive they might reach an agreement with workers early next week.
Higss says it is not clearly defined whether workers will be back at work on Monday.
He says the issue up until now is how to implement a new shift structure.
