Employee at EC Midlands TVET College arrested for fraud

A 38-year-old employee at the East Cape Midlands TVET College has been arrested on charges of fraud and theft involving over R1 million rand.

Simone de Klerk handed herself over to authorities on Wednesday and appeared in court where she was granted bail after applying for legal aid.

According to the charge sheet, De Klerk faces 82 counts of fraud and theft.

She will be back in court again on the 27th of this month.
