Western Cape Health Minister, Theuns Botha, has officially opened the emergency centre at George Hospital.
Botha said the official opening of the emergency centre marks another achievement in the provincial government's commitment to bringing quality health services closer to the people of the Western Cape.
He said George Hospital will also play an important role in the Health Insurance pilot project in the Eden District.
Minister Botha said the last phase of the George Hospital upgrade, the construction of the psychiatry ward, will soon go out to tender with completion expected in the middle of next year.
