Eleven human fetuses were found dumped near a day hospital in Mdantsane on Tuesday night.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Nkosinathi Mzuku says the gruesome discovery was made by taxi commuters in a N.U Highway rank.
Mzuku says eyewitnesses told them the fetuses were in a bucket.
Speculation is rife that the fetuses could have been from the nearby Nontyatyambo clinic.
Police say the bags of the waste were dated from the 8th to the 11th of May.
Algoa fm news still awaits a comment from the clinic manager Vukile Maki.
Police are investigating.
