Eleven people were arrested in George on Thursday morning on charges of public violence.
This after residents barricaded a road in Pacaltsdorp.
It is alleged that protesters were on their way to deliver a memorandum relating to service delivery issues to the George municipality when they were stopped by police.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies confirmed that police are still at the scene and are monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, protest action also started at the Provincial traffic offices in Mossel Bay.
Public Order Police (POSP) have been summoned to the scene.
