Eastern Cape police fired rubber bullets to disperse residents of Amatholavale at Stutterheim who took to the streets on Tuesday in a service delivery protest.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa, says 11 people were arrested on charges of public violence.
They will appear in court on Wednesday.
Mawisa says police used rubber bullets to disperse the protestors.
She says the situation has returned to normal.
