An elephant seal called Leslie has been spotted on a beach in Reebok near Great Brak River.
A spokesperson for the Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (SMART), Tersia Marais says Leslie is two years old and was first spotted in Jefferey's Bay in January.
She says Leslie is swimming along the Southern Coast and has been tagged and is being monitored.
Marais says Leslie is a special animal as it is quite rare for this species to visit our coastline. They come from Marion Island in the Arctic circle where they have their breeding colony.
She says for Leslie to swim this far is very special.
