The power supply to the Eastern Cape Education Department's district office in Port Elizabeth remains suspended after being cut in December.
This, amid a dispute between the Department and the Municipality over an over-due bill of R12.1m. owed by schools.
The council decided earlier that it would not punish the schools for the outstanding payments but would cut the electricity to the district office instead.
Education Department spokesperson, Loyiso Pulumani, says a team has been sent to meet with Metro to resolve the impasse.
A municipal spokesperson says the power will remain off until the outstanding debt has been settled.
