Elderly woman shot and killed, another critically wounded in EC homestead

An elderly woman has been killed, and another left critically injured after they were shot by two men in Lower Didimana near Whittlesea in the Eastern Cape.

Police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni, says the men entered a homestead where they first shot a 55-year old woman early this morning.

She says the gunmen then went to a second house where they shot and killed a 70-year-old woman.

Mdleleni says a case of murder and attempted murder is being investigated.

She's appealing to anyone with information to contact the police.
