Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of murder, after an elderly woman was killed at an old age home in Komani - previously Queenstown.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana says the body of the 89-year -old was found on Thursday morning by a neighbour who went to check on her.
He says after she did not respond, the manager was informed and upon investigation, the elderly woman was found already deceased with wounds to the upper body.
The motive for the killing is not yet known, and no arrests have yet been made.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with the investigation to contact the nearest police station.
