A 79-year-old woman has been found dead in her home in the luxurious Pinnacle Point Estate in Mossel Bay.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp says police were called to the scene on Saturday morning.
He says upon arrival they found the woman in the bedroom with open wounds caused by a sharp object.
Kapp says a witness told police that the woman's 86-year-old husband had called for help.
He says the circumstances surrounding the murder are being investigated.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
A spokesperson for Pinnacle Estate told Algoa FM News that a statement will be issued in due course.
