Swift action by Southern Cape police has led to the arrest of two suspects for the death of an 80-year-old woman and the assault on her 92-year-old friend.
Captain Malcolm Pojie says the attack occurred on Thursday night at Jongensfontein, near Stillbaai and that the surviving woman is in hospital in a state of shock.
He says neighbours arrived on to the scene on Friday morning and contacted the police.
The 80-year-old woman was found deceased in one of the rooms, as well as her 92-year-old friend, who was injured.
The men stole a vehicle, belonging to one of the victims. Police were able to trace the vehicle and arrested the suspects on Friday morning.
Pojie says the suspects who are from Heidelberg en Riversdale, will appear in court on Monday.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
