Elderly woman found murdered on farm outside Cradock

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 78-year-old woman was found on a farm just outside Cradock.

Spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker, says the body of Patricia Orpen was discovered in her bedroom on the Morgenson farm, at about 11 am on Tuesday.

She says Orpen's daughter became concerned when she was unable to get hold of her mother and made the gruesome discovery.

Orpen's handbag was also stolen.

No arrests have been made.
