An elderly Port Elizabeth woman has been attacked, tied up and robbed in her home in Fordyce Road, Walmer.
Detectives arrested a 19-year-old suspect on Friday morning, even before the crime was reported to the police, and recovered a stolen TV.
Police spokesperson, Captain Johann Rheeder, says detectives were busy with special operations when they came across the suspect, with the TV set, at around 10AM.
Investigations led them to the house, where they found the injured and severely traumatised woman.
She had already managed to free herself by the time Police arrived.
Rheeder says the woman, whose name has not been released, is in a stable condition in hospital and specialist teams are continuing with their investigation.
