George police are searching for at least two suspects, following a house robbery in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson, Captain Bernadine Steyn says the suspects gained entry to the house by forcing the safety gate of the front door open.
She says a 77 year old woman was asleep, and was awoken by the suspects.
Steyn says they allegedly demanded the keys to the safe, and tied the woman's hands and feet with wire and a belt in the bathroom.
She says the suspects fled the scene on foot with British pounds, a television and jewellery.
